Dodgeball British Tournament
Today, CHS hosted the county secondary schools British Dodgeball Tournament.
We had 15 leaders who trained online over half term from CHS, all committed to promoting fair play. We entered two teams: CHS Dodgers and CHS Pink Ladies, both of whom took to the courts with great enthusiasm.
The CHS teams won their first games, and the CHS Dodgers continued this winning streak throughout the day, achieving victories in every match leading up to the game against TPS. The final result for the TPS match ended in a draw, meaning that the Dodgers needed either another draw or a win to secure the overall victory.
As it was the last game of the day, all the other schools were watching, and conveniently, half of the rest of the school were also present due to break time! The CHS Dodgers took an early lead by winning the first two sets, led by captain Adele. In the third set, Jasper stood alone and impressively managed to eliminate 3 TPS players single-handedly while also making a catch, which allowed his teammate Finley to return to the court. Together, they achieved another win.
In the end, the CHS Dodgers won the final game, securing their victory in the tournament overall! They will be progressing to the national stage in the summer - congratulations!
A big thank you to our leaders, our players, James and Shaun from British Dodgeball, and Mr Dent and Miss Honour for their support.
