Personal Development
At Chichester High School, we believe that our students should be inspired to broaden their horizons both academically and socially.
Within the subject of Personal Development we aim for students to develop who they are as a person. Students will gain a better understanding of themselves and others, preparing them for the wider world. We will challenge our students to build character strengthening skills which instil confidence and understanding of the local, national and international community.
Within the classroom, students will be encouraged to have discussions and debates in a dynamic and safe environment, where students are able to demonstrate skills in oracy, critical thinking, resilience, compassion, empathy and understanding. This creates an important foundation for their learning and development so they can achieve both socially and academically for their time at Chichester High School and beyond.
Topics taught within Personal Development include the statutory Relationship and Sex and Health Education as well as Careers, Financial education and Citizenship.
